Don't already have a myspace page? Creating one is perhaps the single best thing you can do to promote your music. Best of all, it's free. Here's the link to the myspace signup page.

Entry deadline for the Battle of the Bands is April 15, 2008. Entry deadline for Songwriting Contest is March 15, 2008.

A full 25% of scoring comes from online voting—the ratings you receive on your Young Guns competition page—online entry and voting runs through April 15, 2008. (Entry deadline for the ASCAP Jam Prize is March 15, 2008.)

So, let all of your fans know about your Young Guns entry, and tell them they can caste a new vote for you daily through the rating system on your page.

We also strongly recommend that you put a link to your Young Guns page on myspace and anywhere else you have a presence on the web. Ask your fans to do the same.

To increase chances of winning, we also suggest downloading the Guns Vote for Us! poster. Print out copies, add the name of your band, and then post it for all your fans to see.

And don't forget to mention online voting at gigs you may play.

Immediately after online voting closes, Young Guns will confirm the eligibility of the top bands. We'll then send the myspace links of these bands to a panel of music industry professionals who will help Young Guns pick the best teen band in America to receive the $5,000 Muzak Heart & Soul Grand Prize.

The judges will only listen to the first three songs on your myspace playlist, so make sure they're the ones you want us to hear.

Then, stay tuned. We'll announce the Muzak Heart & Soul Grand Prize Winner on the Young Guns website site or around May 15, 2008. Enter Young Guns and it could be you!

Young Guns is offering not just one but two great grand prizes, the Muzak Heart & Soul Prize for the best teen band in America and the ASCAP Jam Prize for the best original song.

You're considered for the ASCAP Jam Prize as long as you've registered by March 1, 2008 and selected this option when you sign up for Young Guns.

If you're not part of a band entering, you can still enter the songwriting contest portion of the Young Guns.

On or around March 1, 2008, Young Guns will confirm the eligibility of the ASCAP J.A.M. finalists and turn to our panel of music industry professionals to help us pick the best song entered.

The judges will only listen to the song from your myspace playlist that you designated as part of the Young Guns registration process, so make sure it's the ones you most want us to hear.

Then, on or around March 15, 2008, we'll announce the winner of the ASCAP J.A.M. Prize on the Young Guns website.

We'll then immediately help make arrangements for the winner to appear at the ASCAP I Create Music Expo in Los Angeles.
