The 2010 Young Guns Nationwide Online TEEN Battle of the Bands is a project of the Catawba College Music Business Students Association.

Catawba is one of only a very few four-year colleges or universities to offer a full curriculum for performers and songwriters of popular music. The difference is making Catawba a top choice for a growing number of talented performers and songwriters of popular music from across the country.

And we do mean talented. In the past four years, FIVE Catawba students have taken home 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the annual John Lennnon Songwriting Scholarship competition. That's far better results than any other college or university in a contest that draws thousands of entries each year.

Popular music at Catawba is paired with a vigorous music business curriculum. How vigorous? You did notice we're hosting a nationwide battle of the bands and songwriting contest for teen musicians that's sponsored by some leading organizations in the music industry, didn't you?
